The TSE Rotameter System is a flexible computer-controlled rotametry monitor for small laboratory animals
designed to analyze rotational behavior induced by unilateral brain lesions.
- Selection of differently sized animal jackets
- Bowl-shaped or cylindrical cages made from clear acrylic for optimum visibility
- Cylindrical test cages made from opaque plastics on request
- Simultaneous or staggered start
- Remote start switch allows the measurement to be started at a distance from the PC
- Monitoring of clockwise & counterclockwise rotations with high resolution (1.44°)
- Easy-to-use USB connection
|
The animal moves about in a special arena and is tethered to a rotary sensor. The low-torque construction ensures
that the animal's movements are not restricted in any way. This sensor monitors clockwise and counterclockwise
rotations with a resolution of 1/250 turn (250 increments for one full rotation = 1.44°) and records changes of
directions.
The TSE RotaMeter software for Windows allows the adjustment of filter settings to change detection sensitivity
according to the specific needs of the user. The experiments can be started and stopped independently from one
another in all the Rotameters that are connected up. Graphical & numerical evaluation of the experimental data
as well as export files for easy data exchange to statistics packages are provided.
